Christopher Lovejoy set to face Trevor Bryan for 'interim' heavyweight title

At last, one of boxing’s most dangerous KO artists, Christopher “Pretty Boy” Lovejoy, gets his well-deserved chance the big time. Lovejoy has got an unbeaten record and a hugely impressive 100% ko record against quality opponents.

King recently announced that contender Trevor Bryan would face Christopher Lovejoy in a battle of big men for the WBA “interim” title on September 26 on the Impact Network. No site has been determined yet.

Lovejoy will be facing unbeaten heavyweight Trevor Bryan, who won some kind of version of the WBA heavyweight title with an October 2018 stoppage win over cruiserweight B.J Flores, and he has not been active since. Also, his promoter, the “Only in America Man,” has been inactive, and semi-retired lately. Both of them will return on September 26.

“I’m bringing some life back into the business again for the love of the people,” 88-year-old King told Boxing Junkie. “I’m bringing back a heavyweight title fight, giving the people what they want. The country is divided. I want to show that working together works. I dedicate this fight to coming together.”

King won a purse bid in March to promote the Charr-Bryan fight, which was supposed to have taken place by the end of May. He said the winner on September 26 could face Charr in the future.

“The main question I am getting is, would I fight Frank? The answer is easy, YES. I am not a fighter who decides who he fights; I fight who I am told to fight,” said Christopher Lovejoy. “I like it that way; I am not trying to build a legacy; I am trying to fight the best fighters in the World and determine where I fit in,” he added.

Lovejoy caught the attention of remarkable names in the boxing world with the ‘Gypsy King’ after he claimed to have decked the unbeaten fighter in the first round of their session after heard his talk around the US gyms. However, Lovejoy gave his own side of the event, telling an almost identical story but varied when it came to the actual sparring session itself.

Lovejoy currently trains at the Mayweather boxing gym in Las Vegas; the 6’5 boxer promises to release his vast punching power on any opponent that stands in his way of getting a world title.

Christopher Jamaal Lovejoy is currently ranked #13 on the USBA/IBF rankings, and he is looking to cement his name in the boxing hall of fame. Lovejoy is available on social media and can be found on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook, where he has continued to grow his following worldwide.
