Anikah George Partners with Mosaic Inc. to Launch The Black Girls Dream Scholarship Rewards

First-year Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University student, Anikah George, collaborates with Mosaic Inc. to create The Black Girls Dream Scholarship, a scholarship program to promote the education of black girls.

Anikah George took a giant step towards changing the lives of young black girls following the launch of The Black Girls Dream Scholarship in partnership with Mosaic Inc. In a related development, the program recently awarded scholarships to applicants to support the pursuit of their academic dreams.

One of the major challenges faced by millions of families across the globe, especially when it comes to fulfilling their educational goals, is access to funding. The situation is even more worrisome for black girls, with the disparity in the number of white and black college graduates substantiating this claim. However, Anikah George, a first-year student at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, looks to change this narrative, as she joins forces with the forward-thinking team at Mosaic Inc. to create The Black Girls Dream Scholarship.

The Black Girls Dream Scholarship was officially launched on March 8, 2023, coinciding with International Women’s Day. The idea to create the program was inspired by the realization that several young girls fail to reach their academic potential due to a lack of financial resources. Consequently, Anikah discussed the situation and idea with her parents. Anikah is aware she cannot help everyone but wants to be a part of the solution even if it is by just helping a few.

Anikah is already making a difference as the award, which was open for current students returning in the Fall of 2023 the application period was open for 1 week and almost 50 applications were received. Four students were selected from the applications on March 15. However, one withdrew as she will not return Fall of 2023. Two of the recipients, Rahjade Anderson and Eryn Latty got $500 each while Tamia Crusoe got $250.
