TechWise, a Google-sponsored DEI program, is on a mission to empower underrepresented groups in the technology industry

In an ever-evolving technological landscape, diversity in the tech industry is paramount. TechWise, a collaborative effort between a pioneering global edtech company TalentSprint, Google, and Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Computer Science (CMU-SCS), addresses this need by empowering underrepresented voices in tech.

Sponsored by Google, TechWise is dedicated to creating an inclusive tech workforce. Launched in 2022, the rigorous, immersive 18-month program designed and delivered by TalentSprint nurtures participants with technical skills and fosters confidence to excel. The curriculum emphasizes hands-on, team-based learning and seizing challenges as growth opportunities.

Fully funded, the program offers a 100% program fee sponsorship along with an additional scholarship of $4,250 to cover essential expenses. Participants receive dedicated mentorship from Google to enhance their professional readiness.

Recently, CMU’s School of Computer Science joined as an academic partner, enriching the program with specialized masterclasses conducted by SCS faculty. Successful students receive a certificate of completion from SCS’s Executive and Professional Education team.

The impact of TechWise is evident in its success stories. Graduates with diverse backgrounds have started careers in leading tech firms and prestigious institutions, showcasing the program’s transformative power. Beyond academics, dedicated faculty and mentors ensure holistic growth, preparing students for the industry’s demands.

TechWise’s influence extends beyond individual achievements, driving a cultural shift toward inclusivity across the tech industry. As it expands, the program remains committed to evolving its curriculum and increasing accessibility for aspiring tech professionals.

Empowering individuals from diverse backgrounds, TechWise propels the industry toward greater inclusivity and innovation. As TechWise continues to evolve, applications for its Cohort 3 are now open to students from any 4-year college in the U.S., in addition to its participating colleges.
